 But who was she, and what exactly did she do? Here’s all you need to know:

Who was Esther Afua Ocloo?

Esther was born Esther Afua Nkulenu on April 18, 1919 in the South Dayi District, Ghana – she would have turned 98 today.

Her dad was a blacksmith and her mom an agriculturist and potter.

She learned at life experience school, voyaging week by week with sustenance supplies she'd cooked herself, before winning a grant to Achimota School, which taught numerous noticeable African pioneers.
